Nissan Leaf App

DESCRIPTION

For Nissan, an Airbiquity partner, I envisioned and designed the first-ever green-vehicle smartphone application letting users remotely control various features of their Nissan Leaf. Owners of the all-electrical Nissan Leaf that own an iPhone or Android smartphone can use the app to perform various tasks like checking the car's state of charge, start or stop charging or adjust the climate control ahead of a trip. Owners can also set reminders to plug in the car or receive notifications when the Leaf reaches a full charge.

With this concept, Nissan was able to expand the product experience beyond the car and climate-friendly lifestyle choice. Fully and truly connected, the Nissan Leaf app resolved concerns of early adopters who didn't quite trust the range and health status of an electric car. Further, I worked with Airbiquity over the course of multiple years to continually improve the functionality and user experience of its connected car system.
